The colourful cosmetics brand officially launched in 1984 in a department store in Toronto, Canada. Known for creating bold lip colours, its inclusive makeup covers a broad spectrum of shades, and we've backed some of the most iconic – think Russian Red (Madonna's Blonde Ambition tour, anyone?), Diva and Velvet Teddy.
This is my very 1st post on Vanity No Apologies and needless to say I am equally nervous and excited so please be kind and bear with me. I will get better with time I promise! Since the time I started looting myself to buy MAC lipsticks I have been wanting to sue the people who name the lipsticks. Why? Oh well what can a poor girl do if lipsticks are named- Syrup, Girl About Town, Cosmo and so on? Well…. buy them for one. So I wanted to get Diva even before I had tried it on me!
Diva is described by MAC as Intense reddish burgundy in a matte finish. The color is one typical example of looking all dark and dreary in the bullet but once on lips, it unleashes the dark sensuous diva within you and just grabs all attention in its dark maroonish brown burgundy color. It is an extremely daring color to pull off but once you do nobody can stop you! The color reminds me strongly of only 1 thing and that is…err. No wait I don't want to spoil your appetite just now!
Since it is a matte finish (that is full on pigmentation) Diva delivers just that! 1 swipe and whoosh – A deep dark rich color which covers any sort of lip pigmentation. However Diva is not a retro matte like our famous Ruby Woo and instead falls in the category of creamier mattes and hence is smoother and easier to apply. But beware! If you were sloppy as a kid in coloring and step out of your lip line well.god help you! Once it gets even a bit smeared the stain will just not go from your skin so do use a liner.
- MAC Russian Red Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with subtle, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had rich color payoff that adhered evenly and smoothly on my lips. It had rich color payoff that adhered evenly and smoothly on my lips.
- Russian Red is a little bit darker and more neutral. This has a matte finish, but it does not feel uncomfortable on the lips. When applying this lipstick from the bullet, it doesn't tug on the lips because it has a creamier finish that is almost moisturizing when compared to Ruby Woo.
- Mac Red Lipstick (Matte). A creamy rich Lipstick formula with high colour payoff in a no-shine matte finish. MAC Lipstick - the iconic product that made MAC famous. This creamy rich formula features.
The lasting power as is with matte finishes is super awesome and lasts throughout the day with all meals and drinks and stains as a sexy remnant of the original color on your lips (I like the stain better!)
Diva like all other MAC lipsticks of the permanent range comes in a typical black and silver packaging with a tight click cap making it travel friendly.

The Good things about Mac Diva:

- Does not dry out lips like other regular matte lipsticks.

- Yummy vanilla fragrance.
The Bad things about Mac Diva: Microsoft office for mac powerpc g5.
- Bad idea to wear without a lip liner. It stains skin horribly.
- A difficult shade to pull off !
Hope you liked my review and oh yes I know the question still bubbling in your minds- what does Diva really resemble?? Dried blood! I mean really! It gives it the sexy vampire twist. I even wanted mock fangs for my lip swatches!

Do I recommend? If you are familiar with rich, deep dark shades then Diva is the absolutely correct choice to bring out the diva in you. A single swipe transforms your simple look into a glam avatar and once you gain the confidence to carry it off you are going to fall head over heels in love. I do believe however, that this shade will be more apt for medium to dusky Indian girls.
Editor: Mac Diva is rumored to be the lipstick Anne Hathaway wore as a catwoman in Dark Knight Rises. If you are looking at dupes than Inglot Round Lipstick Refill #86 comes quite close. And if you prefer rich deep shades in general than check my swatches of L'oreal Intense Ruby.

Mac Russian Red Vs Diva Lipstick
I was rifling around my makeup yesterday and I found these two lovlies. That's MAC Frankly Scarlet Powder Blush (bright rose-red matte) on the left and MAC Russian Red Lipglass (intense blue-ish red) on the right.

I am going to pair the Russian Red Lipglass with heavy black liner on the top lid, but what the heck should I do with the Frankly Scarlet? I don't want to end up looking like a clown, yowza! How much does minecraft java edition cost on mac.
Any ideas?
